In 1991 Billy and Akaisha Kaderli retired at the age of 38. Now, into their 3rd decade of this financially independent lifestyle, they invite you to take advantage of their wisdom and experience.

Your book, The Adventurer's Guide to Early Retirement, was a great help. Especially since it talked about your experiences in Thailand where I expect to end up. I think the major thing your book did for me was to wipe away some of the irrational fears that were bothering me. i.e.: Quality of medical care. FEAR stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. Once I had some facts and the falsity of what I had heard from others was shown to be not real...the fear went away.

Yours truly,

We were definitely getting into our time in Tapachula. Billy took to the routine of looking at Google maps of towns and cities where we were visiting on this trip. By zooming in to the map, he could find out what restaurants, bars, museums or other points of interest that were near to us.

Faces of Guatemala
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

For me, it's always been about the people. Traveling allows us to meet those who live in exotic locations, who have differing customs than the ones with which I am familiar, and who hold a perspective that may enrich my own. Club Ven Aca Jaibalito, Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

As you can see from the map, our town of Panajachel on Lake Atitlan is a short boat ride to Jaibalito (pronounced High-bah-LEE-toh). We have a favored restaurant there that serves scrumptious food, has an outstanding view and also provides access to an infinity pool and hot tub. That restaurant is Club Ven Aca.

Stuck in a Pana Vortex
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli

We didn’t plan on staying this long. No, really folks, we did not. It’s just that one thing led to another and here we are some four months later in Panajachel. Believe me, it could be worse. What I mean is that we could be stuck in a lot of places and Pana, as the locals call it, is one nice place to be.
